چکیده
Approximately 246 million waste tires are generated annually in the United States. That is roughly three per four individuals country. Most end up landfills, adversely affecting environment. In last two decades, researchers have explored using tire chips concrete to replace a portion of coarse aggregates. Past studies indicated that 50% aggregates can be replaced with chips. This research proposes recycled rubber and columns. The used as external transverse reinforcement plain function formwork during pour while providing confinement after curing. concepts this for retrofitting structures inadequate foundations constructing new structures. After analyzing data from research, axial compressive test confined columns was greater on average than unconfined effectiveness ratio all specimens one.

High Strength Concrete Columns under Axial Compression Load: Hybrid Confinement Efficiency of High Strength Transverse Reinforcement and Steel Fibers
Addition of steel fibers to high strength concrete (HSC) improves its post-peak behavior and energy absorbing capability, which can be described well in term of toughness. This paper attempts to obtain both analytically and experimentally the efficiency of steel fibers in HSC columns with hybrid confinement of transverse reinforcement and steel fibers. Toughness ratio (TR) to quantify the confi...
متن کاملCombined Transverse Steel-External FRP Confinement Model for Rectangular Reinforced Concrete Columns
Recently, the need to increase the strength of reinforced concrete members has become a subject that civil engineers are interested in tackling. Of the many proposed solutions, fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) materials have attracted attention due to their superior properties, such as high strength-to-weight ratio, high energy absorption and excellent corrosion resistance. FRP wrapping of concre...
متن کاملBehavior of Hollow-Core FRP-Concrete-Steel Columns Subjected To Cyclic Axial Compression
This report presents the results of an experimental study that was conducted to investigate the effects of key parameters on the compressive behavior of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP)concrete-steel double-skin tubular columns (FSDT). Hybrid FSDT columns have been introduced as a new form of hybrid columns. They consist of an outer tube made of FRP and inner tube made of steel, with sandwiched c...

Flanged shear walls are used extensively in moderate- and high-rise buildings to resist lateral loads induced by earthquakes. The seismic performance of many buildings is, therefore, closely linked to the behavior of the reinforced concrete walls. They must be carefully designed to provide not only adequate strength, but also sufficient ductility to avoid brittle failure under strong lateral lo...
متن کاملDegree of Bending (DoB) in Tubular KT-Joints of Jacket Structures Subjected to Axial Loads
The fatigue life of tubular joints commonly found in offshore industry is not only dependent on the value of Hot-spot stress (HSS), but is also significantly influenced by the through-the-thickness stress distribution characterized by the degree of bending (DoB). The determination of DoB values in a tubular joint is essential for improving the accuracy of fatigue life estimation using the stres...
